Mess Folk - This is Mess Folk CS [2009]

I am really late with posting this because I had trouble with ripping the tape on my stereo and it sounds pretty harsh but here it finally is. Mess Folk are a Sydney Nova Scotia, Canada based band and they play weird, vile, noisy and messed up psychedelic garage punk. Brilliant garage punk that is. The sound is really raw [and my shitty stereo didn't help it either] but the songs are so awesome that it doesn't really matter. I love how sinister it sounds and there's a bunch of tracks that are catchy as hell. The tape was released on SCOTCH TAPE RECORDS and three of the songs from the album were released as a 7'' on HOZAC RECORDS.

The album will be re-released as an LP later this year on BACHELOR RECORDS with 10 additional unreleased songs.

BUY the tape from HERE and the 7'' from HERE.

Mac Blackout - The Western Blue [2009]

Mac Blackout is the guy from FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS and DAILY VOID, two of the greatest sounding bands ever. He also sings in the new band on HOZAC - MICKEY which is also great. This is his third solo album out on FDH RECORDS. It's weird and it's catchy. Pure synth driven mind melting brilliance.

Dávila 666 - Primero Muerta 7'' [2009]

from INSOUND:

Impeccably clean production with such lavish songwriting from south-of-the-border party animals like these would normally be a polarizing combination of attributes, but rest assured, Davila 666 is on the fast track to modern pop notoriety, as this single will soon attest.

Out on HoZac RECORDS. Buy from HERE or HERE.

Dávila 666 have another 7'' out this year on DOUCHEMASTER (which should be on the blog in the upcoming days) and an LP on IN THE RED from last year.

Wizzard Sleeve - Make The World Go Away LP [2009]

from HOZAC RECORDS

"Just as the harrowing chill of summer's slow death drifts across the land, the skin-crawling death-punk masterpiece debut LP from Alabama's confederate glue-wave goth 'tards, Wizzard Sleeve hits the shelves and drags all the sinister vibrations from the ugly side of psychedelia right up front where it belongs. As their influences have cited, and the self-described trinity of Chrome, Crime and Creedence settles into place in your chemically damaged skull."

Out on HoZac.
