Devil's Hand - Demo CS [2013]

Members of Southside Stranglers (RIP) & Dry Spell playing Motorhead inspired punk. Don't let the ugly artwork fool ya. This is some pretty decent stuff.

Southside Stranglers - Strangle You 7'' [2010]

Second single from the best new band from the States. Kenny and Brandon from Government Warning are on vocals and guitar but Southside Stranglers are more into garage punk than GW. Even if the 80's american hardcore influences are present (Bad Brains, RKL, Dicks) SS really drawn influences from bands such as Pagans, Crime or Stooges. A-Side (Strangle You) really reminds me of some later Annihilation Time stuff while the B-Side (Daddy's Little Nightmare) is more faster and frantic. Sounds like Bad Brains would if they tried to cover Stooges as fast they could do it in the 80's. This is with no doubt the best hardcore punk band i've heard in last few years and I can't wait to hear songs from their first (rumored) LP. Get the demo tape here if you haven't heard it yet cause it's also a total ripper. SS demo tape was later reissued on Grave Mistake as Too Much TV 7".

Cannomen - Black Hole 7'' [2010]

Great hardcore punk band from Nashville, Tennessee. Features members of LIFE TRAP but this sounds different. It has a more rocking sound and it pretty much slays. I guess it's similar to what SOUTHSIDE STRANGLERS are doing. Get it NOW! Out on FLAT BLACK RECORDS.

Buy it from the label or at SORRY STATE.

Southside Stranglers concerts!

I kind of found out late about this, but, Southside Stranglers, one of my favourite new bands are playing some shows these days:

Dec 17, 2009 8:00 PM - JR’s Bar

Dec 18, 2009 7:00 PM - House show

Dec 19, 2009 7:00 PM - gallery 5 [this show is with LADIES, GG KING, CLOAK/DAGGER and SCHOOL JERKS]

So, anyone who has the chance to go to these gigs, DO IT!

I think they will be selling their upcoming 7'' on this mini-tour [the 7'' will be out on GRAVE MISTAKE RECORDS in 2010].

Check the bands MYSPACE for more info!
