The Busy Signals - Busy Signals [2007]

THE BUSY SIGNALS are a girl fronted Chicago based power pop group formed in 2005 with members from CARBONAS, the KRUNCHIES and the TYRADES. And this, their debut full length record released on DIRTNAP RECORDS in 2007 was an instant power pop classic :D. Hits like PLASTIC GIRL, STEREO, GOT IT ALL WRONG and MATTER OF TIME make this one of my favorite records and I get back to it a lot. It's just so damn awesome and it makes me happy.

Prior to the full length they released a couple of singles on DOUCHEMASTER and SHIT SANDWICH RECORDS that are also great.

M.O.T.O. - Jacuzzi for the Dead [1994?]

*sorry for the low res cover art. :D

from FLEX DISCOGRAPHY:

Another four hits, I guess the stream never ends. And there's still the millions of unreleased tracks from the cassette only releases... These are with the drum machine again; A side is the usual pop punk, B side tracks are a little calmer.

this was released on LITTLE TEDDY RECORDINGS. sold out.

Vee Dee - Public Mental Health System [2009]

The 2nd album by this great pysched out rock and roll band from Chicago brings to mind early proto-punk bands (the Stooges, MC5...) but you get a somewhat darker vibe listening to this. Most of the songs last 5 minutes or longer and the album is a bit long but it's still awesome. Check their myspace for sounds and CRIMINAL IQ headquarters for buying the album. It's worth the money.
