Generacion Suicida - Los Primeros Anos CS (2016)

These South Central LA ghetto punks made a name for themselves in the modern DIY punk scene with their trademark sound and that is blistering fast, melodic and super cathy retro punk rock sung in Spanish.

This limited tape compiles the songs from their first demo, S/T 7" and the Catholic Spit split 7", which are all sold out now. Read more about Generacion Suicida in my previous posts here and here.

For fans of Masshysteri, The Vicious, Gorilla Angreb, Eskorbuto, No Hope For The Kids, latino punk, 77 punk, Bloodstains Across California compilation etc.

Recently, Doomtown Records released Generacion Suicida's amazing new LP called Sombras. Listen it here!

Generacion Suicida - Todo Termina 12" [2015]

Latest release on Doomtown Records is european press of second 12" from Generacion Suicida from South Central, Los Angeles.

Press info:

"This time around the group brings 9 tracks of their powerful trademark sound. They play melodic, angular and catchy punk with oscillating male/female vocals creating a serrated edge of paranoia and anxiety of a modern day LA."

"This is real punk; rudimentary and raw but not in a dumb way; this is eloquent and it sounds like it coulda come out of LA in 1979 or just plain yesterday. They sing solely in Spanish and remind of bands from other countries, mainly Umea, Sweden; in the Ny Vag tradition of The Vicious and Masshysteri or Copenhagen's Gorilla Angreb and No Hope For The Kids which sort of bring the sound back home to California because those Scandinavians borrowed heavily from Los Angeles’s past (late ‘70s Dangerhouse, especially). But this is not a ripoff band, not some knock off, not some imitation, not a homage or retro dress up party, this is what the group does best."

"On this new 12" GS sped it up; playing it even more blistering fast and melodic, almost sounding in places like a kind of melancholic take on pogo punk. Essential."

Masshysteri are back and they are better than ever! Picking up where VAR DEL AV STAN finished this LP brings us 10 new songs of the best bittersweet catchy punk rock ever. This is by far [along with the PUERTO RICO FLOWERS releases] my favorite record of the year. Released on NY VAG in Europe and FERAL WARD in the US.

First press is sold out but a new one is on the way so be sure to buy it when it comes out.

Cola Freaks Singles

Influenced by new wave and post-punk, these danish guys know how to write catchy punk songs and they play them with hardcore attitude. Cola Freaks members were in Jay Reatard's last live line-up and did a european tour with him and you know that Reatard would not play with just anyone. Cola Freaks are one of the best new bands from Denmark and all of their four singles are just great and i hope they'll release a full lenght record sometime soon. All singles are still available from below mentioned labels.

The Vicious - Igen 7'' [2007]

Last release from the Umea [SWE] based 70's punk influenced band. Most of the members later formed MASSHYSTERI (check their debut album VAR DEL AV STAN here) which is very similar in style. Both are awesome bands. The ALIENETED LP should be on the blog in the upcoming days so check back if you like this.

US press out on FERAL WARD RECORDS and the EU one on the Denmark based label HJERNESPIND.
